November-Fresh Start

A new month is approaching.

When we approach new things we tend to go into it with a fresh outlook. New ideas. New challenges. Fresh start. We feel more comfortable starting new things at the start of a new week, month, year for the previously stated reason. A fresh start.

I usually don’t like to live by that outlook personally. If I see something needs to change, I try to change it as soon as I am aware. For me, it just prolongs the inevitable. That’s just me though.

And with saying all of that, I have learned that you should “Never say never” because I have found myself doing stuff I said I would never do lol.. and so here we are! Me using a new month for a brand new start to make some changes and implement some behaviors I want to modify.

Welp! November is that fresh start for me. I have put together a very small list of things I will not consume in the month of November. These are items I know personally effect my body and I want to handle that in November.

No Dairy

For the last few months I have been adding cheese to my egg white omelette with spinach. And let me just say, it’s delicious with the cheese. I’m taking the cheese out. I know some consider eggs dairy. But I consider them a complete source of protein, so it is staying for me. Do what works for you.

I also add Heavy Whipping Cream to my coffee for added fat. I feel like I don’t get in enough fat sources elsewhere so that’s where I choose to add it. I’m taking that out too. Which probably means I’m going to be drinking tea in November. I’m not mature enough to drink coffee black yet. ??‍♀️

No Pop/Soda

That is self explanatory. I rarely drink pop anyway. Usually a weekend thing. But that’s going away in November. No weekend Diet Cokes for me. ? And don’t judge my choice of drink. I love Diet Cokes and yes I know they contain Aspartame.

No Junk Food

This is kind of funny to me. I say that because my junk good is not really junk food. It is high in fat though and added sugar. Therefore, my body reacts to it. I will not consume any in November. I will also cut out my favorite protein bar. Wondering what my junk food of choice is? It’s trail mix with cranberries and nuts. Don’t judge me!

No Bread or Pancakes

I have to be specific with myself. I can’t just say no bread because in all honesty, bread is not an issue for me (anymore). I consume Ezekiel bread which is a sprouted grain bread and doesn’t spike insulin levels the way normal bread does. But pancakes…. every weekend in October I have consumed pancakes. ??‍♀️ Not in November.

No Days Off from Cardio

I will do cardio every single day in November. Some days may be the treadmill. If we have any decent/warm days in November I will head outside for cardio. Some days it may consist of High Intensity Interval Training. But each day, for at least 20 minutes I will do cardio.

No Excuses

Regardless of the circumstance, I will stick to the rules I set for myself. Because I am realistic… the only day I may deviate from the plan is on Thanksgiving Day. I will allow myself that one day to have a Diet Coke and probably a dessert. Just keeping it real! But I will still do my cardio.

So, if you see fit, join in with me. My goal is to see how my body responds to these changes. I have gotten a little lax in these areas and I need to get it together. So help hold me accountable and stick to this No-November Challenge!
